Here Bob comes to some enlightening conclusions about buying handicraft souvenirs, before finding himself making lunch for twenty five appreciative children at a local kindergarten. Heading towards the Namib Desert, Bob meets Johannes, founder of Elephant Human Relations Aid; working to conserve the desert elephants. He finally gets sweaty helping to build walls but is more than happy when he is rewarded with some stunning elephant viewing.

From here we descend towards the Amazon for a visit to Tambopata and the Lake Sandoval nature reserve where Charlie climbs into the rainforest canopy and eats the local speciality - live worms. Justine Shapiro travels to the city to explore its landmarks nestled along the Grand Canal - the Doge's Palace, St Mark's Square and Basilica, and the Bridge of Sighs to name a few. Justine has a go at rowing a gondola and even gets to take part in the Regata Storica, an historic rowing race full of pomp and ceremony. A sleeper train to the coast brings Holly to the infamous ship breaking yards of Chittagong. In need of some well-earned R&R Holly finishes her journey in a seaside resort providing the perfect end to this adventure.

He'll go head to head against seasoned deep-fry concessionaires who can't keep up with the demand for their deep fried creations. Along the way, Bob will take a deep-fried gastro tour, visiting restaurants and outlets for inspiration. His reward? Meeting great characters along the way and surviving with his arteries intact.

In Salvador de Bahia Manuel is immersed into the mysterious world of capoeira, the combat dancing created by slaves. Forbidden to fight, slaves learnt how to defend themselves using capoeria, disguised as a dance. Manuel ends his journey in the town of Recife where 1,200 natives from 40 tribes participate in an unusual Olympiad. While these first inhabitants of Brazil may not share a common language or common traditions, they do share a minority status, the hassles of modernity and the threat to their land and way of life. For these natives, sport is an excuse, the real challenge is to transform the event onto a political platform.

After diving into the icy waters to observe some spectacular undersea hot-water chimneys, Jerome meets the extraordinary Hildinbrandur, producer of 'Hakarl', a local speciality that is anything but bland.

The trek begins with a training day on the world's steepest and longest slope, the Vallee Blanche. After meeting up with his Irish mountain guide Robbie Fenlon, Zay takes the highest cable car in Europe, the Aiguille de Midi to ski this dangerous run. The Haute Route begins at Argentiere with a long day of 'skinning' (walking uphill on skis) across the Argentiere glacier to reach the isolated Argentiere hut. The last day of the trek, Zay and Robbie descend from the Vignettes hut and cross three cols and seven glaciers on a strenuous twelve hour journey all the way to the Swiss alpine village of Zermatt. Here, he visits the cemetery where thousands have lost their lives climbing the mountains!
